About The Role

Reporting to the Manager of Food, Fibre and Animal Industries, this role is responsible for the efficient operation of the Horticulture, Landscape, Arboriculture, Parks & Gardens, Animal Studies, Beekeeping and Floristry Stores across multiple campuses.

You will coordinate the procurement, storage, distribution and management of equipment, materials and consumables that support teaching, learning and commercial activities. The role also oversees inventory systems, workplace safety, compliance, supplier relationships, facilities maintenance scheduling and logistics to ensure high-quality operational support.

Reporting to the Manager of Food, Fibre and Animal Industries, this position suits someone with strong organisational, procurement and operational skills who enjoys supporting teaching and learning in a practical environment.

What You'll Do

Coordinate the procurement, receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, materials and consumablesMaintain accurate inventory records, stock control and asset management systemsDevelop supplier relationships, obtain competitive quotations and undertake stocktakesPrepare procurement, inventory and financial reports and maintain digital procurement, inventory and asset management systemsCoordinate the preparation, issue and return of equipment for practical teaching and manage logistics between campusesDevelop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate servicing by approved contractorsMaintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Institute policies, including chemical registers, SDS, Test and Tag and compliance recordsConduct inspections, risk assessments and audits and ensure the safe storage and handling of hazardous materialsMonitor operational expenditure, support budgeting and assist Education Managers with resource planningIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and deliver high-quality operational support across the stores
