PSL6 Security Advisors - Multiple Roles

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking motivated and capable professionals to fill three ongoing Parliamentary Service Level 6 positions within the Security Division:

• Senior Security Systems Officer
• Senior Adviser, Security Capability Governance
• Emergency Management Advisor

These roles sit across the Security Enabling Services Branch and Security Operations Branch and play an important role in maintaining the safety, security and resilience of Australian Parliament House (APH). The teams are responsible for supporting critical security capabilities, physical security systems, emergency preparedness arrangements, governance frameworks and operational security functions that protect Parliament, its people, visitors and assets.

Depending on the role, successful candidates will contribute to the administration and assurance of physical security systems, governance and continuous improvement of security capabilities, or the planning and delivery of emergency management and preparedness activities. Responsibilities may include administering Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS), Closed-Circuit Television. undertaking compliance and assurance activities, supporting security capability improvements, providing specialist advice, managing risk and governance processes, coordinating emergency preparedness exercises, and developing security related policies, procedures and training.

These roles require engagement with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across DPS and the broader parliamentary environment. Applicants may nominate one or more roles for consideration. A merit pool may be established from this process and used to fill similar Parliamentary Service Level 6 vacancies within the Security Division

The successful candidate will ideally possess experience, knowledge or capability in one or more of the following areas:

• Physical security systems, including Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS), CCTV and related security technologies.
• Security governance, capability development and change management.
• Security compliance, audit, assurance and reporting activities.
• Emergency management, preparedness planning and incident response arrangements.
• Stakeholder engagement and coordination across multiple business areas.
• Development of policy, procedures, training materials and operational documentation.
• Risk management and security advisory functions.
• Analysing information and providing evidence based recommendations to support operational outcomes.

Requirements:

• For the Emergency Management Advisor role, a qualification in emergency management, or a willingness to obtain one, is desirable.
• The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
