Road Train Operator

Norton Gold Fields is seeking applications from experienced and safety-focused operators interested in joining our Crushing and Haulage team as a Road Train Operator.

This role plays an important part in supporting the overall performance of mining operations by ensuring the safe, efficient and productive operation of road train equipment across the site.

Roster: 2:1 - 12 hrs (Dayshift/Nightshift) (Residential or FIFO ex.Perth)

Residential Location: Kalgoorlie

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Haulage Shift Supervisor, the Road Train Operator is responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently while supporting production targets and maintaining high safety standards. The role works closely with Maintenance, Technical Services and other site support teams to ensure smooth and effective operations.

• Conducting pre-start checks on equipment prior to operation

• Operating road train equipment safely and efficiently in line with site procedures

• Following mine plan instructions to support production targets

• Participating in equipment handovers with supervisors and cross-shift operators

• Completing post-shift checks, cleaning and refuelling equipment

• Reporting hazards, incidents or changes in ground conditions

• Contributing to a safe and productive team environment

• Maintaining strong housekeeping standards and operational efficiency

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

• A current MC Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence - required

• Commercial Vehicle Fatigue Management Certificate

• Previous Road Train side tipper and self-loading experience

• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices

• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team

• Ability to complete operational paperwork, such as run sheets and timesheets

• Mechanical aptitude and previous mine site experience (desirable)
