The Continence service provides assessment, treatment, and ongoing support for people experiencing bladder and bowel control problems. The service supports individuals of all ages, helping them to manage conditions such as urinary or faecal incontinence, constipation, and pelvic floor dysfunction. The aim is to improve quality of life, promote independence, and support dignity through effective continence management.
The purpose of the Continence service is to assess, manage, and support individuals with bladder and bowel continence difficulties. The service aims to improve quality of life by promoting independence, dignity, and confidence through early identification, effective treatment, education, and ongoing support. It provides person-centred care to help prevent complications, reduce symptoms, and enable individuals and their carers to manage continence needs safely and effectively.
Key Selection Criteria
Mandatory
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of 3 years post grad experience
Preferred
A recognised post-graduate qualification relevant to the role (or willingness to work toward)
Demonstrated knowledge & experience in continence management e.g. urinary catheter insertion and care, continence aids and services.
