About the role
Oaken Energy is expanding its NSW solar and battery installation teams and is looking for motivated second, third and fourth year electrical apprentices who want to become highly capable electricians. You'll work alongside experienced SAA accredited electricians across residential and commercial solar, battery and smart energy projects while completing your electrical apprenticeship. You'll be given the opportunity to develop genuine electrical skills across installation, testing, commissioning, switchboard work and fault finding.
Key responsibilities
Work on residential and commercial solar PV installations
Install and maintain grid-connected battery storage systems
Work with hybrid inverters and system upgrades
Install backup and essential-load circuits
Perform switchboard modifications and protection upgrades
Conduct electrical testing and verification
Commission systems and perform fault-finding
Prepare compliance documentation
Execute safe rooftop installation practices
Communicate professionally with customers and team members
About you
Currently completing the second, third or fourth year of an electrical apprenticeship
Reliable, punctual and ready to work
Take pride in producing neat, safe work
Physically capable and comfortable working at heights
Listen, learn and respond well to direction
Work well as part of an installation team
Show initiative without compromising safety
Communicate professionally with customers and other team members
Construction White Card
Current Australian driver's licence

$27-$40 per hour based on apprenticeship year, previous solar experience, technical ability and demonstrated capability
Flexible compressed working week with full-time hours across four longer working days
Above-award pay for apprentices who demonstrate strong skills, reliability, initiative and willingness to learn
Structured training and mentoring with experienced SAA accredited solar and battery electricians
Clear career pathway to support completion of apprenticeship and progression towards SAA solar and battery accreditation
