Officer Plumbing Inspector - 12 months Fixed Term
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $101,066, plus up to 15% superannuation

Gympie Regional Council is seeking an experienced Plumbing Inspector to join our Plumbing Section for a 12-month fixed term full-time position. Help ensure plumbing work across the community meets the required standards, legislation and codes. Working under the supervision of the Coordinator Plumbing Section, you’ll be responsible for assessing and inspecting plumbing applications, responding to customer enquiries and investigating customer requests. You’ll also contribute to reviewing and improving the section’s policies and procedures.
What You’ll Bring
Current Queensland Plumbers and Drainers LicenceCurrent Queensland C Class driver licence or aboveCurrent General Construction Induction (White Card)Sound knowledge and experience in plumbing assessment and certification, particularly for Class 1 and 10 buildingsWorking knowledge of the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018, relevant regulations and industry codesStrong communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, correspondence and written instructionsAbility to work collaboratively within a specialised teamGood computer literacy
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications Criteria
Experience or qualifications in any of the following will be highly regarded:
Backflow prevention On-site sewerage facilitiesSolar and heat pump systemsClass 2-9 plumbing applicationsAssociate Diploma in Applied Science (Construction Hydraulics) or equivalent
