St George Montessori is a growing early learning organisation committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for children and supporting the families and communities we work with.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Accounts & Finance Officer to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong bookkeeping and finance administration experience who enjoys working independently, managing competing priorities and being an important part of a busy finance function.

You will support the day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• 💳 Managing weekly Accounts Payable, including processing 50+ supplier invoices per week in Xero
• 🧾 Preparing payments and managing supplier accounts across multiple entities
• 🏦 Completing daily bank and credit card reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• 💰 Processing fortnightly payroll-related requirements, including superannuation payments and STP reporting
• 📑 Assisting with BAS preparation and other finance and compliance requirements
• 🏛️ Managing government funding, traineeship grants and incentives, including reporting and acquittals
• 📦 Supporting services with weekly supplier orders and maintaining positive supplier relationships
• 🤝 Monitoring supplier payment plans
• 📅 Completing month-end reconciliations, wage journals, credit card reconciliations and account close processes
• 📈 Assisting with fortnightly management reporting on wages and revenue
• 👩‍💼 Providing broader finance and administrative support to the Finance Manager

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised and takes ownership of their work.

You will ideally have:

• ✅ 2+ years' experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration role
• 📚 Strong bookkeeping and financial administration experience
• 💻 Solid knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
• 🔎 Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• ⏰ The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
• 🗣️ Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 🚀 A proactive and solutions-focused approach
• ⚡ The ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment
• 🎯 A willingness to take ownership and follow tasks through to completion

This is a broad finance role where you'll have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of finance rather than being limited to one function, while working closely with an experienced Finance Manager and wider leadership team.
