Victoria's Big Build Graduate Program

About the role

Make a difference for Victorians while building the skills, confidence and experience to launch your career. You’ll work with committed teams and contribute to major projects shaping how people live, move and connect.

Delivering Victoria’s Big Build takes people from many disciplines working together in complex, creative environments. Depending on your stream, you may work with project teams, specialists, consultants, contractors and industry partners across different industries.

You’ll support legal teams across VIDA by assisting with research, drafting, reporting and key legal documentation for major infrastructure projects.

• Work within the VIDA Roads and VIDA Rail Legal Team to provide timely and high-quality assistance on matters to support a variety of complex and large-scale infrastructure projects
• Assist senior lawyers with researching, drafting and collating reports, briefs and responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
• Enable the team to ensure that legal documents are completed in accordance with statutory requirements and open to audit at any time

Eligible degrees: Law

When you join the program, you'll be employed full time at a salary of $83,244 + superannuation (as per VPS EA 2024). We may also support successful legal graduates to complete their Practical Legal Training.

About you

We are seeking recent graduates, and representatives of Victoria's diverse community to join the 2027 Victoria’s Big Build Graduate Program.

You will be:

To be eligible, you must:

• Have completed a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree between January 2024 and January 2027.
• Have full Australian working rights for the entire duration of the program (February 2027 to February 2029).
• If you have completed a master’s degree, you must have commenced your master’s within 12 months of completion of your bachelor’s degree.
• Have an interest in working in the infrastructure projects as part of the Victorian Government.
• Desirable: A valid Victorian drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle.
