Industrial Operator

About the role

StraightLine Industrial Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Operator to join our team in Roxby Downs, SA 5725. As a casual Industrial Operator, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining high-powered vacuum loading systems to handle non-destructive digging (potholing) industrial cleaning and waste removal. Working across civil construction and mining sites you will operate heavy vehicles and high-pressure water equipment while maintaining a sharp focus on safety compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Operate industrial machinery and equipment in accordance with operational procedures and safety guidelines

• Monitor equipment performance and production metrics to identify any anomalies or potential issues

• Perform routine maintenance checks and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal functionality

• Load, unload and position materials and products as directed

• Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime and any incidents or maintenance requirements

• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and report issues to supervisory staff

• Comply with all health, safety and environmental regulations on site

• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production schedules and targets

• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols to prevent accidents

What we're looking for

• Valid HR Drivers license and current white card

• Experience operating a high-powered Vacuum Truck

• Willingness or certification to enter and work in confined spaces

• Ability to work on a 7 day on, 7 day off Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) basis. You must be comfortable with long-distance driving to site and staying in company supplied housing

• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety

• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to pass a National Police Check and pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening on a regular basis

• Capability for heavy manual handling, including lifting and manoeuvring heavy vacuum hose

• Strong teamwork and communication skills
