Powder Coater/Fitter/Yard Hand

About the role

The Powder Coater/Fitter/Yard Hand role involves preparing and powder painting a variety of surfaces including steel, aluminium, and other coated and uncoated metals, as well as assembling and fitting trays to vehicles. The position ensures all trays and components are fitted and assembled to a high-quality standard while maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the yard.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare parts and assemblies for painting

• Apply protective powder coatings to items such as components, trays and miscellaneous metalwork using spray gun in conformance with specifications

• Ensure facility are in good working condition

• Identify and separate non-conforming parts or materials and report to supervisors

• Employ heat or oven paint drying techniques for special purpose finishes

• Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation to discover defects and make necessary adjustments

• Fit accessories and trays to vehicles

• Maintain cleanliness of the yard area and general upkeep of premises

• Collect and deliver vehicles for tray fitments as required

About you

• Current and valid driver's licence

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• High degree of teamwork

• Ability to identify problems and offer effective solutions

• Good organisational skills

• Experience in powder coating, manufacturing or the steel industry is beneficial but not necessary

• Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
