About the role
Canberra PCYC has operated in Canberra since 1957.
We are a community-oriented organisation committed to empowering young people through a variety of programs that promote personal development, education and skill enhancement. Our primary objective is to support at risk youth and families by offering safe environments, mentorship and opportunities that cultivate resilience, social connections and pathways to brighter futures.
The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Board and leads the organisation in the implementation of the strategic plan and oversight of all aspects of the organisation’s management.
The role requires a dynamic leader, committed to the transformative potential of positive futures through a collaborative environment that provides a highly respected community and educational support service for children, young people and their families.
To be successful in this role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field e.g. social work, psychology, business management or at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a not-for-profit or mission driven organisation, preferably involving youth and/or community development, social services, welfare, education or similar.
You will have exceptional interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills, with a focus on strategic partnerships, government and philanthropy relationships and be able to demonstrate that you have the skills and experience to:
