Yardperson / Trade Assistant / Truck Driver

About the Role

Sunstate Truck Group is seeking a reliable and motivated Yardperson / Trade Assistant to join our growing team on a full-time basis at our Wellcamp Dealership.

This is a diverse, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in being the person who helps keep the dealership running smoothly. No two days will be the same, with responsibilities ranging from yard maintenance and truck movements to assisting our workshop team, operating forklifts and completing general maintenance/tasks around the dealership.

As a growing dealership representing the rapidly expanding Sitrak truck brand, we're looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves, help where needed and become a valued member of our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely move and position trucks, trailers and equipment throughout the dealership and customer sites.

• Assist workshop technicians with general trade assistant duties.

• Conduct vehicle pickups, deliveries and registration runs as required.

• Operate forklifts for loading, unloading and moving parts, equipment and materials.

• Maintain the presentation, cleanliness and organisation of the dealership yard and grounds.

• Perform general handyman and property maintenance tasks.

• Assist with receiving and organising stock deliveries.

• Prepare new and used trucks for display, delivery and customer handover.

• Complete basic pre-delivery support tasks under workshop supervision.

• Ensure tools, equipment and storage areas remain clean and organised.

• Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

• Provide support across parts, service and sales departments as required.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A current HR Driver's Licence (HC Licence highly regarded).

• A current Forklift Licence.

• Previous experience within the transport, truck, automotive, agricultural or mechanical industries.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.

• Experience as a Trade Assistant, Yardperson, Labourer or similar hands-on role.

• A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good time management and organisational skills.

• A willingness to assist in different areas of the business when required.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, professional workplace.

• A positive attitude, reliability and a genuine willingness to get the job done.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
