About the role
Encoo Communications is looking for an experienced, hands-on senior network engineer to be part of our Network Operations Centre (NOC). This is a rare opportunity to be a senior technical authority in a fast-growing telco, working on complex, high-impact network challenges for our customers.
About Encoo
Encoo is a proudly Australian-owned telecommunications company based in Melbourne. We deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions that leverage our national presence and deep technical expertise. Our team is passionate, agile, and committed to performance, regardless of client size. We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us.
About the Role
Reporting to the NOC Leader, you'll work alongside other senior technical team members as one of the NOC's escalation points — providing technical guidance, mentoring and support on complex routing, switching, firewall and VPN issues.
What You'll Do
Be one of the Level 3 escalation points for complex or prolonged network and security issues
Manage hardware provisioning and project delivery timelines for customer installations
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, protocols and systems
What You'll Bring
5+ years' senior network engineering experience in a Telco/ISP environment, including experience as a technical escalation point
Strong switching and routing, firewall and security, and dynamic routing/VPN experience (BGP, MPLS, OSPF preferred)
Juniper experience (MX, EX, SRX, NFX, QFX) – JNCIA/JNCIS highly regarded
Fortinet experience (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) – NSE4 or above highly regarded
Understanding of VOIP, and datacentre experience including patching and racking
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to self-manage and prioritise
Ability to travel interstate for deployments as required, and flexibility for after-hours work
Why Join Us
You'll be part of a close-knit, values-driven team with a genuine local culture - built on respect, teamwork, having a bit of fun, and getting things done.
We value fresh ideas and innovation, and your technical expertise will be trusted and respected. You'll have the autonomy to make a real contribution, bring your own ideas to the table, and help shape how our NOC operates and continues to improve.
