About the role

Due to continued investment and growth, Bartier Perry has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Supervisor to join our Finance team on a 12 to 15-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking a broad, hands-on role and the chance to make a meaningful contribution within a respected Sydney law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of two experienced Accounts Assistants
• Manage the processing and payment of supplier invoices
• Review trust account payments to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, internal policies and audit requirements
• Coordinate the monthly payroll process for over 330 employees through an outsourced payroll provider
• Assist with daily bank reconciliations and allocation of receipting
• Respond to internal and external enquiries with a strong client service focus
• Oversee and coordinate finance-related administrative activities
• Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Maintain effective financial processes, controls and procedures
• Provide broader support to the Finance team as required

About you

Our ideal candidate possesses:  

• 5+ years’ experience in a finance supervisory role, ideally within a law firm.
• Demonstrated trust accounting experience
• Experience coordinating payroll processes and accounts payable functions
• Practical hands-on experience with Aderant Expert or similar practice management software (highly regarded)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to document and improve processes
• A proactive, service-oriented approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
