About the role
Support Workers Cairns
Care Crusaders (formally Home Heart & Health Care) is a provider for the NDIS. Our supports include but are not limited to clinical care, complex care, community access and all activities of daily living. Care Crusaders prides itself on exceptional workplace values and high standards of care delivery.
We are currently looking for creative and outgoing support workers to engage and motivate our participants to achieve their goals.
Looking for support workers with experience or an interest in providing complex supports including but not limited to; mealtime management (dysphagia), complex bowels and behaviour support.
Looking for support workers to commit to regular and consistent shift schedules.
Support individuals with intellectual, mental health and/or physical disabilities.
Must be creative and resourceful to assist customers achieve their goals.
Passionate, empathetic & committed to provide the best care to each individual
Delivering high quality person centred support
Daily living assistance in the home and community
Support physical health and emotional well-being
Assisting individuals to and from community-based activities and appointments.
Complete all relevant documentation and reporting as required
Skills and Experience:
6+ months paid work in a similar role - experience with complex support desirable
Outstanding interpersonal, communication and resilience skills
Adaptability to work with different individuals including challenging behaviours.
Cert III in Disability or community services
Mandatory Requirements:
Current "Paid" Blue and Yellow Card
Current First Aid and CPR Statement of Attainment
Evidence of work rights (e.g. Passport or Birth Certificate)
Unrestricted Driver Licence
Smartphone (iOS or Android)
Own reliable transport (willing to use for work)
Current Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
Recent BlueCard Changes
It is now a requirement to hold your BlueCard prior to commencing work with Young People. If you do not currently hold a BlueCard, or your BlueCard is due to expire within 3 months, it will be essential to apply for a BlueCard early in the Recruitment Process.
