Gardener/Horticulturist (PT/FT), Canberra

4 Gardens looks after some of Canberra's nicest private gardens. We're a small, boutique team, and we're after someone to help us keep doing that properly, whether you're a qualified, experienced horticulturist (min. Cert III) or looking for a career change and keen to learn the trade on the job.

This isn't a high-volume mowing round. Our clients care about quality, so we need someone who either already knows the trade or is genuinely committed to learning it properly. In return, you'll join a small, close-knit team with a genuine path to team leader for the right person.

We provide vibrant, happy and healthy gardens for our clients across Canberra. Our work covers the full range of garden maintenance, including:

• Lawn mowing and maintenance

• Hedge trimming

• Weed control

• Tree and plant pruning

• Plant pest and disease detection and treatment

• Mulching

• And more

We're open to two kinds of applicant: qualified and experienced, or new to the trade but genuinely keen to learn on the job. Either way, you'll bring:

• A horticulture qualification (minimum Certificate III), or a genuine willingness to learn the trade on the job if you don't have one yet

• A genuine eye for detail and pride in your work

• Good baseline physical fitness for a hands-on, active role

• The ability to work well within a team

• An unrestricted driver's licence (trailer experience preferred)

• Your own way of getting to our shed in Hume for a 7am start, as public transport options here are limited

• Full right to work in Australia

• A current or willingness to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card and police check

• Part-time (minimum 3 days per week) or full-time available

• Full-time is a 38-hour week, with overtime rates paid for additional hours worked

• Early morning starts, 7am from our shed in Hume

• 3-month probation period

• Starting September

• Salary negotiable, based on your experience and qualifications
