The Whiteheads Timber Sales group operates a mid-sized softwood saw mill supplying into wholesale markets with 4 trade and retail outlets across SA and Victoria. Whiteheads has developed a strong presence in the local timber industry, built around a reputation for providing dependable and effective customer service levels and consistent quality products while maintaining a safe workplace.

Whitehead's maintenance team currently have opportunities for qualified Electrical tradespersons available to the right candidates to join our growing team for ongoing and preventative maintenance work at our Sawmill in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

This position is a hands-on role requiring a good work ethic, a can-do approach, and flexibility to achieve desired outcomes.

To be considered for this position, you will:

• Collaborating within a dayshift team to ensure smooth operations.

• Maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving existing systems.

• Identifying and resolving technical issues efficiently.

• Providing technical support to production staff.

• Contributing to the enhancement of safety standards and systems.

• Demonstrating flexibility in taking on various tasks to support the team and plant needs.

• Participating in on-site projects and system upgrades.

The following will be considered an advantage, but not essential for this position:

• A Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or higher).

• An A Grade electrical license.

• Experience with PLCs.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and fault-finding skills.

• The ability to interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A proven ability to work independently and within a team.

Sawmilling maintenance experience preferred but not essential.
Remuneration relevant to your qualifications will be discussed during the interview stage.

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination, which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.
