Underground Mine Surveyor - Full time or Casual

About the role

Mine Survey Australia provides specialist mine surveying to a portfolio of client operations — underground and open pit, statutory coverage, technical services and data management. You will work across a range of client operations on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth. Placement length is driven by client need, with plenty of work on the books to keep you busy and moving between different environments.

Key responsibilities

• Setting and maintaining survey control through the decline and development headings

• Marking up development — lasers, paintlines, grade lines

• Scanning of Voids and upkeep/maintenance of the sites Void Model

• End of month pickups, physicals, claims and reporting

• Traversing and control network maintenance

• Mine plan preparation and updating, including emergency mine plans and statutory plan sets

• Auditing and reporting against survey standards

• As-builts of underground infrastructure, ventilation and services

• Working with Deswik and the survey suite the operation runs, plus total station, GNSS and scanning gear

About you

• Surveying qualification — Degree/Diploma

• Underground surveying experience on an operating mine

• Confidence with Deswik (or the ability to pick it up fast) and Leica/Trimble instruments

• Current driver's licence, and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen and police clearance

• Underground tickets and inductions are a plus (mining contractors driving tickets, records of attainment, etc.)

• If you hold a statutory mine surveyor's certificate of competency — or you're working toward one — that's highly regarded
