Assistant Manager / Estimator

We're looking for an Assistant Manager / Estimator to join our growing team. This is a hands on leadership role where you'll work closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the workshop while delivering an exceptional experience for our customers.

Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will play a key role in the daily operation of the repair centre, assisting with estimating, customer service, production coordination and team support.

• Prepare accurate repair estimates using industry estimating software.

• Liaise with customers, insurers and suppliers throughout the repair process.

• Assist in managing daily workshop operations and vehicle workflow.

• Support production scheduling to ensure vehicles progress efficiently.

• Monitor repair quality, timelines and customer expectations.

• Assist with parts coordination and communicate any repair variations.

• Provide leadership and guidance to workshop and office staff.

• Help achieve key performance targets including productivity, cycle time and customer satisfaction.

• Resolve customer enquiries professionally and promptly.

• Ensure company policies, safety procedures and quality standards are consistently followed.

• Step into the Shop Manager role during periods of leave or absence.

• Previous experience as an Automotive Estimator within the collision repair industry.

• Leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of repair methods and estimating systems.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Current driver's licence.

• A positive attitude with a genuine desire to support and develop a successful team.
