WSP’s Geo-Environmental Engineering business consists of geotechnical, environmental, civil, instrumentation, and waste specialists who design and deliver earth‑structure and subsurface solutions such as containment cells, groundwater barriers, gas & vapour barriers, and water/wastewater systems across mine sites, infrastructure, and waste facilities around Australia.  

We are currently looking for a Senior Civil / Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Engineer to join the Geo-Environmental Engineering Applied Solutions team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact civil and infrastructure projects across South Australia.

As a Senior Construction Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll:

• Oversee and manage construction projects, ensuring strict adherence to quality control and assurance standards.
• Lead site activities, supervise labour, equipment, and materials, and maintain rigorous safety and quality records.
• Support the preparation of construction plans, programs, tenders, and technical reports.
• Apply engineering techniques to analyse drawings, estimate costs, and drive cost control and budget management.
• Assist with data interpretation, analysis, and evaluation, and prepare specifications and quantities for review.
• Collaborate with project teams, communicate progress to managers, and contribute to project success.
• Deliver site-based solutions, including installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment for mining and construction projects.
• Maintain and operate instrumentation and data logging systems, with opportunities to work on innovative technology (e.g., Campbell Scientific, telemetry systems).
• This role will require a mix of site based and office work predominantly throughout South Australia, however will also include some interstate travel as required.

What you’ll bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.  
• Experience in medium to large civil infrastructure construction, with a focus on Quality Control and Assurance.  
• Fieldwork experience in earthworks and liner Quality Assurance
• Fieldwork experience in instrumentation/electronics or site-based engineering. Previous geotechnical instrumentation experience will be well-regarded but is not essential.  
• Demonstrated technical expertise in data logging (Campbell Scientific preferred) and telemetry systems (IP/ Wireless/ radio/ satellite).  
• Strong team player with excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.  
• Commitment to Occupational Health & Safety and a high level of attention to detail. Experience in earthworks and liner installation (desirable).  
• Manual driver’s licence and willingness to travel for FIFO assignments.
