Accountant

Financial Accounting

• Full responsibility for the end-to-end accounting function

• Daily bank reconciliations and cash flow management

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight

• General ledger maintenance, journals, accruals, and prepayments

• Month-end and year-end close processes

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting

• Balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis

• Fixed asset register management

Payroll & Employee Administration

• End-to-end payroll processing for approximately 35 employees

• Superannuation processing and compliance

• PAYG withholding, payroll tax, and STP reporting

• Leave reconciliations and employee payroll queries

• Ensuring compliance with relevant awards, employment legislation, and payroll obligations

Tax & Compliance

• Preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS, PAYG, FBT, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations

• Management of all corporate tax requirements in conjunction with external advisors where required

• Assistance with annual financial statements and tax pack preparation

• Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian statutory and regulatory requirements

Finance Operations & Process Improvement

• Maintain and improve accounting systems, controls, and finance processes

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

• Assist management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting

• Liaise with auditors, external accountants, banks, and regulatory bodies

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

• CA / CPA qualified or working towards qualification

• Minimum 5+ years’ accounting experience in a similar end-to-end role

• Strong payroll experience essential

• Solid knowledge of Australian tax, payroll, and statutory compliance

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Xero, MYOB, SAP, Syspro or similar)

• Strong Excel skills

• High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function

• Strong communication skills with a practical, solutions-focused mindset

• Enjoys ownership and accountability

• Is equally comfortable processing payroll and preparing management reports
