Medical Typists

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of Australia's leading pathology practices, committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services that support better health outcomes for our patients and communities.

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Medical Typists to join our Histopathology team in Bowen Hills on a casual basis. These positions offer flexible evening work, with shifts commencing between 4:30pm and 7:30pm, 2-5 nights per week. Shift days and shift lengths are negotiable, providing flexibility to suit individual availability.

Working onsite alongside an experienced and supportive Histopathology team, you will receive hands-on exposure to a specialist laboratory environment while contributing to an essential healthcare service.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately type and transcribe macroscopic specimen descriptions for Histopathology reporting.

• Answer telephone enquiries and direct calls as required.

• Perform general administrative and office support duties.

• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling patient and laboratory information.

• Work collaboratively within a busy laboratory environment to support efficient workflow

What we are looking for

We are seeking reliable and professional individuals with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy. You will enjoy working as part of a team while also being capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Excellent keyboard and computer skills, including a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team-focused environment.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.

• Previous medical typing or transcription experience.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and/or human anatomy.

• Experience working within a healthcare, pathology, or laboratory environment.
