About the role
UGL is seeking an experienced and technically capable HSE Advisor to support major telecommunications infrastructure projects.
Working across telecommunications shelter construction, wireless infrastructure and associated civil works, you will provide expert HSE guidance to project teams while driving continuous improvement in safety, environmental and compliance performance. A key focus of this role is supporting project teams operating in regional and remote locations, ensuring robust environmental controls, effective emergency preparedness and safe execution of high-risk activities.
Sydney is the preferred location for this position, with regular travel to regional and remote project sites across Australia.
What you’ll be doing
Implement and maintain UGL's HSE Management System across national telecommunications projects.
Develop and review management plans, risk registers, SWMS and contractor management processes.
Conduct audits, inspections, incident investigations and assurance activities across project sites.
Support environmental compliance and risk management, including environmental controls for remote and regional work locations.
Lead emergency preparedness initiatives and partner with project teams to manage safety risks associated with isolated and remote work environments.
About You
Diploma in Work Health & Safety and at least 5 years' experience in a high-risk industry.
Strong technical capability across HSE systems, compliance, risk management and contractor assurance.
Demonstrated experience supporting remote or geographically dispersed workforces, including emergency planning and response for isolated sites.
Experience managing environmental risks and controls across construction, infrastructure or telecommunications projects.
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and high-risk construction activities, supported by strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
