Workforce Hire is currently recruiting Senior Soil Technicians on behalf of SMS Geotechnical, an established and independent NATA-accredited testing organisation servicing the civil, mining and construction industries.

The Opportunities

SMS Geotechnical is seeking experienced Senior Soil Technicians for a variety of roles, including:

• Adelaide metropolitan positions
• Northern Territory opportunities
• Port Lincoln
• Whyalla
• Annexe Laboratory positions
• FIFO opportunities

Depending on the position, you will undertake a combination of laboratory and field-based testing, supporting major civil, mining and construction projects.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Current Radiation Use Licence and demonstrated experience operating a Portable Nuclear Density Gauge
• Proven experience in laboratory and field testing of soil and aggregate to Australian Standards
• Current South Australian Driver's Licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle
• Current Construction Industry White Card
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques would be advantageous
• Good communication and basic computer skills
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
• A reliable, hardworking and honest approach
• The ability to follow instructions and work to established procedures
• Willingness to work various shifts, including away and FIFO opportunities where required
• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding, field-based environment
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
