TOTAL DEMOLITION SOLUTIONS PTY LTD is seeking a Skilled Demolition Labourer to join our dynamic team in Sydney, NSW. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging demolition projects across the Sydney region. As a Skilled Demolition Labourer, you will play a vital role in the safe and efficient execution of demolition operations, contributing directly to project success and maintaining our commitment to industry-leading safety standards. This position is essential to our operations, requiring both technical skill and a strong dedication to workplace safety and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the safe demolition of residential, commercial and industrial structures using hand tools, power tools and specialised demolition equipment

• Operate or assist in operating demolition machinery and equipment in compliance with all safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines

• Prepare work sites by removing hazardous materials, conducting preliminary assessments and establishing safe working zones

• Segregate and sort demolition waste materials for recycling and appropriate disposal, ensuring environmental compliance

• Maintain a clean and organised work site, removing debris and maintaining clear pathways for personnel and equipment

• Follow all site-specific safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and conduct pre-work safety briefings

• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet project timelines and quality standards

• Report hazards, near-misses and incidents promptly to site supervisors and management

• Adhere to relevant legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and demolition industry best practices

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Demolition Labourer or similar skilled labouring role in the construction or demolition industry

• Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) or ability to obtain one prior to commencement

• Sound knowledge of demolition techniques, safety protocols and the use of hand tools and power tools

• Physical capability to perform manual labour tasks in varied weather conditions and environments

• Strong commitment to workplace safety and a demonstrated safety-focused mindset

• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively as part of a team

• Excellent communication skills and reliability in meeting project deadlines

• Current drivers licence preferred for site access and mobility requirements

• Mandatory certificates required: Asbestos Awareness , Silica Awareness,

• Other certifications such as Forklift Operator, Working at Heights or High-Risk Work Licence would be advantageous
