About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Fleet Scheduler / Allocator to work with a General and Heavy dedicated team in our specialised Transport Division. The role is a full-time permanent position - salaried. This salary incorporates the out of hours nature of this type of work including weekend work and night work for some projects.
The Fleet Scheduler / Allocator is responsible for:
Booking and tracking containers (slots)
Allocating drivers and fleet to jobs on the schedule of works
Where excess drivers, liaising with other divisions for internal hire needs
Create schedules / manifests for jobs each day and communicate to drivers
Provide start times and associated job information to drivers prior to the start of the next shift
Update job legs into the system in a timely and accurate manner - including any changes to the job plan
Support in job planning process (e.g. pilot, police bookings and permit tracking and lodgement)
Communicate any changes to relevant persons (including additional charges, delays, ETA's etc)
Communicating and liaising with customers for in/out bound requests and updates
Co-ordinate and liaise with site supervisor for movements into/around and out of the yard as required
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the follow key qualities:
Knowledge of NHVAS, Gazette Notices, Permit scheme and other transport legislation
Knowledge of heavy transport vehicle configurations and load mass limits
Prior experience OSOM (essential) - i.e.. heavy haulage, out of gauge movements
Prior experience to book, plan & monitor slots via 1-Stop, VBS and Container Chain
NHVAS - BFM accreditation (desirable not essential)
Ability to meet deadlines
Abstract thinker - able to work in a changing environment and drive efficiencies and performance within changing conditions.
Highly organised and methodical in paperwork and process
Good time management skills
Cert III or IV in Frontline management of Supply Chain Logistics (desirable)
TLIF0006 - Administer a Fatigue Risk Management system (desirable)
Balanced approach which incorporates safety
Desire to deliver excellent customer service
