Exploration Geologist

About Capricorn Capricorn Metals Ltd is an Australian-based gold producer operating the Karlawinda Gold Project in the Pilbara and developing the Mt Gibson Gold Project in the Mid-West. Our exploration team has a strong track record of discovery and resource growth, having delivered over 2.2 million ounces of gold reserves in recent years.

The Role

We are seeking an Exploration Geologist to join the Mt Gibson team on a 2:2 roster.

Reporting to the Exploration Manager whilst working closely with Project Exploration Geologists, you will assist in the planning and execution of exploration programs and provide technical support across:

• Supervision of AC, RC and diamond drill programs (including data capture, entry, QA/QC and validation)

• Design, coordination and implementation of mapping, surface sampling and drill programs

• Analysis and interpretation of drilling results and generation of new targets

• Validation and interrogation of historical data

• Mentoring and supervision of Field Assistants

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Science (Geology major) from a recognised tertiary institution

• Genuine enthusiasm for geology and discovery

• Minimum 3 years’ relevant professional experience preferred

• Drill program experience (supervision, logging, data validation and database management – Diamond, RC, AC)

• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail

• Full C Class manual driver’s licence (Mandatory) 

• 4WD experience (well regarded)

• Experience with geological and GIS software well regarded

• Senior First Aid and remote-area competency (highly regarded)
