About the Opportunity

We're seeking a safety-focused, hardworking and motivated individual to join our NSW Construction Team as a Hi Rail Excavator Operator. This is your opportunity to build a long-term career in the rail industry.
The NSW Construction Team plays a key role in maintaining and improving ARTC's rail network. The team undertakes hands-on preventative and reactive maintenance, completes safety pre-start checks, and supports construction activities associated with planned capital upgrades across the network.
In this role, you'll perform a variety of tasks, including driving prime movers, operating heavy plant such as Hi Rail Excavators, Front End Loaders and Hi Rail Hydremas, undertaking general labouring duties, using hand and power tools, performing track maintenance and housekeeping activities, and participating in specialised maintenance work. You'll also have the opportunity to undertake training in track certification, rail infrastructure maintenance and safe working protection duties-all while working to ARTC's high safety and quality standards.
This role requires flexibility, including regular travel and overtime.

About the Team
Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
