Electrician with Clear Path to Part-Ownership

Job Synopsis

We are seeking an ambitious, newly qualified electrician to assist our Director in establishing a new electrical services company and scaling it up long term.

As our Nominated Qualified Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of our new company’s trade compliance. Your role will begin with low-risk projects across 4 commercial buildings in Sydney CBD and Inner West. As your experience and confidence grow, you’ll tackle larger projects.

Ideal Candidate

• Australian citizen or permanent resident with advanced English skills,

• NSW Electrical Licence required. Qualified Supervisor Certificate preferred, if not, we can assist in obtaining,

• Hard-working and career-focused,

• Able to flexibly work 24/7/365, and self-motivated to commit to more than 50 hours per week on busy weeks,

• Enjoys responsibilities, and being relied upon,

• Strong awareness of electrical safety, workplace safety, and NOT taking risks to accomplish tasks,

• Peripheral knowledge of security cameras, access control, BMS systems, etc.

• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality of company information and safeguarding intellectual properties,

• Desire to continuously learn and explore creative and efficient solutions to commercial electrical projects,

• Excellent problem-solving and logical reasoning skills,

• High level of attention to detail, and aspires to achieve perfection,

• Excellent note-taking skills and strict adherence to instructions,

• Willing to tackle tasks beyond standard job description,

• Some communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical personnel,

• Demonstrates a growth mindset by embracing feedback constructively and utilising it to enhance performance and outcomes,

• Able to work in solitude, as well as in cross-departmental teams and with other contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Install/maintain/troubleshoot security cameras, access control, lighting hardware, wall boxes, racks, etc.

• Install/maintain/troubleshoot all cabling for commercial buildings, i.e. Electrical, CAT6, telco, security cameras, access control, BMS, mechanical systems cables, etc.

• Work on commercial building distribution boards, tenant switchboards, mechanical services switchboards, UPS circuits, etc.

• Ensure all work complies with AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules, NCC and relevant standards, etc.

• Collaborate with team members, project managers, IT, mechanical services technicians, building management staff and other trade contractors,

• Maintain detailed documentation of work completed, materials used, inventory, time, etc.

• Undergo structured guidance and learn essential skills needed to manage and grow the company.

Established in 2005, we are a small IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) located at 259 George Street, Sydney CBD. Driven by rapidly growing project demands, we must establish a new electrical company to expand our service capabilities.
