About the role
Procurement Australia is looking for a Content Marketing & Social Media Specialist who knows how to turn a good idea into great content.
This isn't a role where you'll simply manage a content calendar and brief other people to do the creative work. We're looking for someone who can find the story, develop the idea, write the script, pick up the camera, shoot it, edit it, publish it and understand whether it worked.
You'll take day-to-day ownership of our organic social media presence and help build a stronger content engine across video, social, website, email and digital campaigns. If you're a hands-on content creator who moves quickly, has a great eye for content and design, and gets excited about building something, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with our Head of Marketing and Brand and people across Procurement Australia to:
Own our organic social presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, including the content calendar, publishing rhythm and community engagement.
Concept, script, film and edit engaging content including Reels, YouTube Shorts, interviews, explainers, thought leadership, customer stories and event content.
Build a consistent pipeline of organic social content and work towards approximately 5–10 quality video assets per week through original creation and smart repurposing.
Create broader content including articles, case studies, website copy, EDMs, newsletters, thought leadership and campaign content.
Work with our General Managers and subject-matter experts to turn complex expertise and great stories into content people actually want to consume.
Support the setup and management of basic paid campaigns across Meta and LinkedIn, with specialist campaign support available for more advanced activity.
Create everyday digital and social assets and coordinate with designers for more complex creative requirements.
Track content, social and campaign performance and use the data to continually improve what we create.
Who we're looking for
We're less interested in someone who can tell us they love content and more interested in someone who can show us what they've created.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience across content creation, social media, content marketing or digital marketing.
Strong hands-on video production and editing capability.
Experience creating short-form, social-first content.
Strong copywriting, scripting and storytelling skills.
A solid understanding of what works across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
Experience with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or equivalent.
A strong eye for design, composition and brand consistency.
Working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and/or LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and subject-matter experts and uncover the interesting story behind what they do.
A proactive, resourceful mindset and the ability to take something from an idea through to delivery without needing every step mapped out for you.
Experience in B2B, professional services, procurement, government or membership organisations would be useful, but it isn't essential.
Great content capability, creative instinct and a strong portfolio matter more to us than experience in a particular industry.
The kind of person who'll thrive here
You're someone who sees a content opportunity and acts on it.
You're happy developing a content plan, but you're equally happy setting up a microphone, filming an interview, editing a Reel or jumping on an opportunity at an event.
You're creative but commercially minded. You're organised, but you can move quickly when plans change.
You care about quality, but you don't let perfection stop you from getting great work out the door.
Most importantly, you don't wait for content to come to you. You go and find it.
How we work
This is a full-time role based in Melbourne.
Procurement Australia currently operates a hybrid working model, with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the office and Wednesday and Friday working from home.
Because this is a hands-on content role, flexibility is important. Filming, events, workshops and other content opportunities may occasionally require you to be in the office or on location on a usual work-from-home day, including 5 days in a particular week where required.
Why join Procurement Australia?
You'll be joining at an exciting time as we build the next stage of our brand, marketing, content and digital capability.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Take genuine ownership of our content and social presence.
Help build our content capability rather than simply inherit an existing formula.
Work directly with senior leaders and subject-matter experts.
Experiment with new content formats, platforms, technology and AI-enabled tools.
Develop broader experience across content, digital marketing, campaigns and brand.
Grow your responsibilities as the marketing function continues to develop.
How to apply
Please submit your CV and portfolio or examples of your work through SEEK.
Your portfolio is important to us. We'd particularly like to see content you've personally conceptualised, filmed, edited, written or managed, especially short-form video and social-first content.
Please clearly explain your contribution to any work you submit.
