Medical Receptionist

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our General Surgeon practice based in Ipswich.

This position is suited to a confident, organised and professional medical receptionist who is comfortable working independently in a busy clinical environment.

Commencing Monday, 2nd November 2026

Permanent Part-Time Position:

• Flexibility required during times of sick/annual leave where full time hours will be required.

• 30hrs Per week Mon-Fri (set hours)

  • Monday: 8AM - 1PM

  • Tuesday: 8AM - 4PM

  • Wednesday: 8AM - 1PM

  • Thursday: 8AM - 4PM

  • Friday: Wk1 8AM - 1PM | Wk2 11AM - 4PM

Reception Duties

• Manage telephone and face to face enquiries

• Check & action incoming letters, faxes & emails

• Check & action correspondence - Medical Objects

• Manage Pathology & Radiology Results

Clinic Preparation

• Send patient reminders

• Call unconfirmed patients

• Referral management

• Manage appointments & cancellations

• Data Entry Integrity Checks

• Forwarding referrals & letters to third parties

ADHOC Tasks (when required)

• Theatre Bookings

• ECLIPSE Billing

• Stock Ordering + Management

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential

• Gentu (or similar) experience essential

• Professional, friendly and confident communication style

• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

• Able to prioritise and remain calm in a busy environment

• Reliable, proactive and comfortable working independently

• A genuine commitment to providing a high standard of patient care

• 4 weeks paid annual leave

• Paid Christmas/New Year closure period (closure dates varying each year depending on the surgeon’s theatre commitments)

• A stable, part-time position within an established specialist practice
