Camco (SA) Pty Ltd is a progressive and innovative Adelaide-based civil engineering and construction company, proudly servicing South Australia’s Civil and Building industries since 2001. Our expertise spans Civil Infrastructure Construction, Commercial Building Construction, and Facility, Building & Maintenance Services.

Camco is seeking an experienced and capable Accounts Payable Officer to take ownership of our day-to-day Accounts Payable functions and become a key member of our Business Support Team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking responsibility for the full AP process, maintaining accurate financial records, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.

You will be the primary point of contact for Accounts Payable within the Business Support Team and will provide guidance and support to others in relation to AP processes and requirements.

About the Role

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely end-to-end Accounts Payable functions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing and coding invoices to the appropriate job code and General Ledger accounts.

• Managing invoice approval workflows and resolving workflow or processing issues.

• Matching invoices against approved purchase orders.

• Reconciling supplier and subcontractor statements and following up discrepancies.

• Setup and Maintenance of vendor records and new vendor onboarding.

• Monitoring and responding to Accounts Payable enquiries.

• Preparing weekly payment runs in a timely and accurate manner.

• Maintaining Bank Guarantee and Retention Registers.

• Providing guidance and support to other Business Support Team members regarding AP processes.

• Providing back-up support to other Business Support Team functions when reasonably required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident taking ownership of a busy Accounts Payable function.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Payable role.

• Strong understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes.

• Confidence investigating and resolving discrepancies.

• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

• Good computer skills (including intermediate Excel skills) and confidence learning and working across different systems.

Desirable

• Experience using MYOB or similar accounting software.

• Experience within civil construction, construction or a similar industry

• Project and job costing experience
