About the role
The South Coast Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (SCWDVCAS) is seeking a passionate and highly organised Safety Action Meeting (SAM) Coordinator to join the team in Moruya or Bega. This is a vital role supporting women and children impacted by domestic and family violence through coordinated, multi-agency responses that prioritise safety and wellbeing. The SAM Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating fortnightly Safety Action Meetings, bringing together key service providers to develop tailored, client-centred action plans for individuals identified as at serious threat. The SAM coordinator also provides domestic violence safety assessment, safety planning, information and referrals to women that are referred to the service from both NSW police and external organisations.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and facilitate Safety Action Meetings in accordance with women's domestic violence court advocacy service policy and the safety action meeting manual
Liaise with partner agencies including police, housing, health, child protection, and community services
Identify and refer high-risk domestic violence matters to SAM
Develop and monitor comprehensive safety action plans for clients, including holding external services accountable for their agreed actions
Ensure accurate and timely data entry, reporting, and record management
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and promote collaborative practice
Provide information, advocacy, and support to women experiencing domestic and family violence
Uphold confidentiality, privacy, and trauma-informed practice principles
About you
Experience working within the domestic and family violence, community services, or related sector
Strong understanding of risk assessment and safety planning frameworks
Excellent coordination and organisational skills
Ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary agencies
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to client-centred, trauma-informed practice
Relevant qualifications in social work, community services, or a related field

SWG Inc provides auspice for the South Coast Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (SCWDVCAS) through NSW Legal Aid. It is the Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service for the Nowra, Milton, Eden, Bega, Moruya, Narooma and Batemans Bay Local Courts. We maintain offices in Nowra, Moruya and Bega.
