About the role
At Southern Cross Grammar, we believe education is most powerful when a student is truly known and their potential is unlocked to shape what comes next.
We are an independent, co-educational, non-denominational Foundation to Year 12 school located in Caroline Springs, Victoria. Established in 2011, we are united by a clear purpose: to develop people who make a positive difference in the world. Through evidence-based teaching, strong relationships, and a commitment to wellbeing our students are supported by staff who champion their unique journey.
At SCG we prepare our students for lives of purpose and impact, grounded in the belief that when students matter, futures shine brighter.
We invite applications from experienced educators for the newly created position - Head of AI and Innovation. This Senior Leadership role provides an opportunity to lead the School’s Digital Technologies curriculum while shaping the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies across the School.
The role comprises:
an ongoing substantive teaching position; and
a three-year appointment as Head of AI and Innovation, attracting a Level 4 allowance and 0.4 FTE time release.
Key aspects of the position
Working collaboratively with School leaders, curriculum teams and teaching and professional services staff, the successful applicant will:
provide leadership and oversight of the ICT and Digital Technologies curriculum;
support contemporary approaches to curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment;

contribute to School policies and expectations concerning responsible AI use, privacy, data security, academic integrity and student safety;
build staff confidence and capability through professional learning, coaching and practical resources;
identify opportunities to use AI and digital technologies to improve professional practice, streamline processes and reduce administrative workload; and
coordinate and evaluate appropriate trials of emerging digital tools.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated curriculum leadership experience, a strong understanding of AI and emerging technologies in education, and the ability to support colleagues through change. Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills will be essential.
