About the Role
For more than 50 years, Kypreos Group has helped deliver essential road infrastructure across New South Wales. We are now looking for a skilled and safety-focused Fitter & Machinist to join our Facilities Division, supporting asphalt manufacturing facilities across multiple locations in Sydney Metro and the South Coast.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will maintain, repair and improve critical plant and equipment - helping keep our facilities operating safely, reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with preventative and breakdown maintenance on asphalt manufacturing plant/facility equipment.
Repair and replace mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, screens, valves, and drive systems.
Use workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
Support shutdowns, inspections, fault finding, and facility improvement projects.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance instructions.
Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and risk assessments as required.
Participate in stock management and workshop housekeeping activities.
Follow all company safety procedures, permit systems, and environmental requirements.
Work collaboratively with operators, contractors, and other maintenance personnel to minimise production downtime.
Skills and Experience
Essential
Successful completion of Mechanical Fitter & Machinist apprenticeship.
Experience in a manufacturing, quarrying, asphalt, mining, construction materials, or a heavy industrial environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Understanding of preventative maintenance principles.
Commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills.
Current driver's licence.
Desirable but not essential
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience with conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment.
Forklift, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Working at Heights, or Confined Space tickets.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
