Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00am–5:00pm

About the Family

A welcoming and supportive family is seeking a caring and experienced Nanny/Educator to join their household and support their young child.

The family values a collaborative and respectful approach and is looking for someone who will become an important part of their child's support network. They enjoy spending time in their local community, including visits to parks, libraries and other family-friendly activities.

About the Child

The child is a bright and engaging young boy with his own unique personality, interests and communication style. He is currently developing his communication skills using an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device, and the successful candidate will be supported in learning how to incorporate this into daily interactions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will collect the child from preschool, therapy or another local setting and support him throughout the afternoon.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing a safe, nurturing and engaging environment.
• Supporting transitions following school or therapy.
• Following the child's cues and adapting activities to suit his interests and energy levels.
• Encouraging communication through play and everyday routines, including use of his AAC device.
• Supporting sensory regulation strategies and emotional wellbeing.
• Accompanying the child on outings to parks, libraries and other community locations.
• Preparing snacks and encouraging age-appropriate independence.
• Assisting with personal care as required.
• Working collaboratively with parents and allied health professionals to support the child's development and wellbeing.

Support and Collaboration

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a supportive family and an established allied health team. Ongoing guidance and resources will be available to help the successful candidate build confidence, learn effective strategies and develop a strong understanding of the child's individual needs and strengths.

You will have:

• A minimum 3 years' full-time experience in the Childcare Industry working as a Nanny, Child Carer, Child Educator or in similar positions
• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
• Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate issued in Australia
• Current Victorian Working With Children Check for Employees
• National Police Clearance issued within 12 months in Australia
• Permanent Australian residency or a valid working visa
• Flexibility, commitment and a great work ethic
• Full vaccination status

Pay: $36.00 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
