Child and Family Services has an exciting opportunity for practitioners to join our Restoring Families team in either a permanent or fixed-term (12-month) position. About the Role

As a Restoring Practitioner, you will provide rapid, culturally safe, flexible, and intensive therapeutic support to children, young people, and families. Working within a multidisciplinary care team, you will deliver trauma-informed interventions that recognise and promote the voice, choice, cultural identity, and lived experience of children, their families, and carers.

You will also contribute to a comprehensive evidence-informed practice framework, using monitoring and evaluation to continuously improve outcomes for children and families.

About You

You are a passionate and skilled practitioner who is committed to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families. You will bring:

• A collaborative and innovative approach to delivering relational, trauma-informed, evidence-based, and coordinated services.
• The ability to work in partnership with Child Protection and other agencies to support children at imminent risk of entering out-of-home care and to facilitate safe and timely family reunification where appropriate.
• Experience embedding evidence-informed practice to strengthen families, promote child safety and wellbeing, and support parents and caregivers to provide safe, stable, and nurturing home environments.
• Strong assessment, engagement, and case management skills, with the ability to respond effectively to complex family needs.
• A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and child-centred practice.

Essential Requirements:

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline.
• Significant experience working within child and family services, including complex case management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development, child protection, trauma-informed practice, and family-centred approaches.
• A strong understanding of child safety principles, cultural responsiveness, and working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
