About the role
Lead pharmacy readiness for one of the largest digital health transformations in NSW Health. This unique short-term opportunity will play a key role in preparing Royal North Shore Hospital (RNS) Pharmacy for the November 2026 Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) go-live. Working closely with RNS pharmacy leadership, Digital Health Services and state-wide stakeholders, you will help shape future-state pharmacy workflows, support change management and training activities, and contribute to a safe and successful implementation.

Royal North Shore Hospital - Pharmacy Department
What you'll be doing
This temporary full-time Grade 3 Pharmacist position offers a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in preparing the RNS pharmacy department for and implementing the Single Digital Patient Record. The SDPR is one of the largest healthcare transformation programs undertaken in NSW Health and will fundamentally change the way clinical information and medication management are delivered across the health system.
The successful applicant will lead and coordinate RNS pharmacy department readiness and local implementation activities in the lead up to and during the November 2026 SDPR go-live. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, this role will support the departments transition to future-state digital medication management workflows and help ensure a safe and successful implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinating the review, redesign and implementation of pharmacy and medication management workflows to align with future-state SDPR processes.
• Supporting departmental change management, communication and staff engagement activities to promote readiness, confidence and adoption of new systems and workflows.
• Planning and coordinating pharmacy training, competency and readiness activities ahead of go-live.
• Leading the Pharmacy Department's operational and clinical readiness activities for SDPR implementation.
• Supporting workflow validation, testing, issue identification and resolution.
• Coordinating pharmacy operational planning for cutover, go-live and stabilisation periods.
• Working collaboratively with pharmacy, medical, nursing and digital health stakeholders to identify and address clinical, operational and medication safety considerations associated with implementation.
• Developing and maintaining local procedures, guidance documents, communication materials and implementation resources.
• Acting as a key liaison between Royal North Shore Hospital Pharmacy, NSLHD Digital Health Services and state-wide SDPR implementation teams.
• Identifying opportunities for service improvement and optimisation enabled through digital transformation.
In addition to SDPR responsibilities, the successful applicant will provide senior clinical and/or operational support as required to meet departmental priorities, including contributing to clinical, dispensary and/or other service activities commensurate with the Grade 3 Pharmacist role.
