About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at our Sandstone Point location in QLD. This is a permanent/part time or full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and health services to our community. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, providing expert pharmaceutical advice, and supporting patients in managing their health and wellbeing. This position is essential to our pharmacy operations and directly impacts the health outcomes of the patients we serve.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescriptions and pharmaceutical regulations

• Provide professional pharmaceutical advice and counselling to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions

• Perform clinical checks on prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate pharmaceutical records for all patients

• Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy products

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals including GPs and other allied health practitioners to optimise patient medication therapy

• Conduct medication reviews and provide recommendations for improved health outcomes

• Provide immunisation services and health screenings where applicable

• Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy legislation, regulations, and professional standards

• Support and mentor pharmacy staff to maintain high standards of service and professionalism

• Contribute to the implementation of pharmacy quality assurance programs

What we're looking for

• Recognised pharmaceutical degree and current registration with the Australian Pharmacy Council or relevant regulatory body

• Proven experience working as a Pharmacist in a community pharmacy setting

• Comprehensive knowledge of medications, therapeutic uses, contraindications, and potential drug interactions

• Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound professional judgements

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds

• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic dispensing software

• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality pharmaceutical care

• Strong organisational and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements specific to pharmacy operations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Current CPD (Continuing Professional Development) compliance and willingness to undertake ongoing professional development

• Immunisation accreditation or willingness to obtain accreditation is desirable
