About Us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

Communications division
DGS' Communication division builds and protects the department's reputation and actively promotes its role in improving everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government.We deliver impactful strategies, effective channel governance and engaging content that supports the department's vision, purpose and values.We provide strategic advice and guidance on media, marketing, digital and communication (internal and external) to best position DGS and deliver informative and educational content to staff, the media, stakeholders and the community.

About the roles

We're looking for 2 x Advisers to support best-practice communication and engagement planning and delivery for Consumer Affairs Victoria.

These roles contribute to communication strategies and plans, content and events, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Both roles will work closely with teams across the division and with colleagues across policy, compliance and enforcement to develop solutions that meet business and consumer needs.

• Develop and deliver high-quality communication strategies and approaches to support best practice communication, including project management, approvals, monitoring and evaluation, working in partnership with other teams with the division.
• Develop communication content for a range of channels and audiences, including EDMs, social media, advertising copy, web content, speeches and other materials.
• Build effective working relationships within the division and with key business areas across the department and provide communication advice to department business units, regional offices, statutory entities and executives.
• Support and contribute to the management, monitoring and evaluation of communications and engagement activities, including preparing accurate reports, briefings and other documents.
• Support and coordinate processes, including campaign approvals, planning and work allocation to ensure key communication activities are following the approved schedule and delivering required outputs.
• Plan and develop community information, awareness, and engagement strategies to build project engagement and awareness.
• Prepare accurate and well-developed reports, briefings, procurement and contract documents.
• 8. Provide surge support for other priorities within the division where required.
