About the role
Breakthrough Group is a locally owned and operated industry leader in demolition, asbestos removal, concrete cutting and drilling across Far North Queensland.
We're currently looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining our fleet of plant, machinery and equipment, ensuring everything is operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
About the RoleWorking closely with Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, with a strong focus on small engines, construction plant and machinery.
Your ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, service and repair small engines, plant and machinery.
Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance across our equipment fleet.
Perform repairs on both mobile and stationary equipment.
Inspect equipment for faults, wear and safety concerns.
Identify major repairs or replacement requirements and report these to management.
Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs.
Manage workshop inventory, tools, parts and consumables.
Assist with ordering replacement parts and equipment.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience repairing and servicing small engines (essential).
Mechanical trade qualifications (preferred but not essential for the right candidate with proven experience).
Experience working on construction, industrial or mobile plant equipment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
The ability to work independently and manage your workload.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
A commitment to maintaining a safe and tidy workshop.
A current driver's licence.
Full-time, stable employment.
