About the role
We are seeking an HR Generalist to join growing medical services organisation in Glen Waverley, Victoria. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our organisation's human resources strategy and operations. As an HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our business objectives by managing the complete employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management and retention. This role is essential to fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring that our team operates efficiently and compliantly.
What you'll be doing
As HR Generalist, your key responsibilities will include:
Recruiting, screening and onboarding new employees, including job advertising, candidate interviews and induction programme delivery
Managing employee relations and providing support to staff members regarding HR policies, procedures and workplace matters
Administering payroll and benefits processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation
Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with organisational values and legal requirements
Conducting performance reviews, managing performance improvement plans and supporting career development opportunities
Handling employee leave administration, including annual leave, sick leave and other statutory entitlements
Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation whilst ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance
Supporting training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and engagement
Resolving workplace disputes and managing disciplinary and grievance procedures fairly and professionally
Liaising with external stakeholders such as legal advisors, payroll providers and industry bodies as required
Contributing to workforce planning and providing HR analytics to inform business decision-making
What we're looking for
To succeed in this HR Generalist role, you will need:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
At least 3-5 years of experience in a generalist HR role or similar, covering recruitment, employee relations and HR administration
Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, fair work legislation and industrial relations requirements
Proficiency with HR management systems, payroll software and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment in handling sensitive workplace matters
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding HR ethical standards
9. Familiarity with payroll processing and superannuation compliance is desirable
