ABOUT USWomen's Resilience Centre is a national online service dedicated to helping women heal and move forward from domestic abuse and trauma, through holistic long-term recovery support. Our work is grounded in trauma-aware principles, evidence-informed practice and deep respect for the strength, dignity and lived experience of every woman who engages with our services. We support women who have transitioned out from crisis services and legal system interventions, supporting their recovery and healing, while providing pathways through which they can rebuild their lives with hope. Our services include Client Care (recovery support), group programs and mentoring. We focus on four practical strands of recovery - employment pathways, financial wellbeing, building personal strength and parenting after domestic violence.WRC has entered an exciting new phase of service delivery, moving from a start-up, to expand our reach and amplify our ability to support communities across Australia, while building on strong foundations to enhance service quality, strengthen outcomes, and develop innovative new programs.
ABOUT THE ROLEThis 20 hours/week role combines domestic violence recovery casework with trauma-informed counselling, recovery coaching and service coordination. Primarily offering phone / telehealth services, the Women’s Support Practitioner provides a one-to-one service for domestic violence and complex trauma survivors who are no longer in crisis or unsafe situations. You will work with clients to develop a tailored support and healing plan, helping them to rebuild their lives. Your client work will be grounded in our Emergence approach, which focusses on psychological wellbeing, physical wellbeing, financial security, healthy relationships, parenting and stability.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work outside of the crisis system, to empower women and improve safety outcomes, and contribute to wrap-around recovery and healing responses that create lasting change and support prevention of intergenerational harms.
We are a small team with an office based in Mona Vale, Sydney. We offer hybrid or in-office work, and remote work may be considered for the right candidate.
