About the role

Discovery at Play Early Learning Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Diploma Early Childhood Educator to join our team in Dalyellup, WA. This is a flexible part-time position offering a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on children's development and learning outcomes. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating nurturing, stimulating, and safe environments where children can explore, learn, and grow. This position is fundamental to our mission of providing high-quality early learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners.

Key responsibilities

1. Planning, implementing and evaluating age-appropriate educational activities and play-based learning experiences that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development

2. Providing direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and comfort at all times

3. Building positive relationships with children and families, communicating regularly about each child's progress, interests and developmental milestones

4. Creating and maintaining clean, safe and stimulating learning environments that encourage exploration and play

5. Supporting children's social and emotional development by modelling positive behaviours and conflict resolution strategies

6. Collaborating with colleagues to implement centre policies and procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards

7. Observing and documenting children's learning and development to support individualised planning

8. Contributing to staff meetings and professional development activities to enhance practice and stay current with early childhood education trends

What we're looking for

Qualification in Diploma or working towards in Early Childhood Education or equivalent recognised qualification

1. Current First Aid and CPR certification, including paediatric first aid

2. Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and commitment to play-based, child-centred learning approaches

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues

4. Physical capability to engage actively with children throughout the day and assist with routine care tasks

5. Patience, creativity and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

6. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities

7. Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to duty of care and ethical standards

8. Previous experience working in early learning or childcare settings is highly valued

9. Current Working with Children Check (mandatory requirement)

10. Responsible Person able to open or close the centre
