About the Role:
The Commissioning Electrician plays a key role in bringing GE Vernova Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) into operation by executing electrical commissioning activities across wind projects throughout Australia.
Rotation : 3:1 Monday to Saturday Full 7 days R&R
Location: Wellington - Uungala Wind Farm
Port: Newcastle
12 month contract with view to extend
Attractive daily rate
FIFO to Dubbo or DIDO Flight/Accommodation/Vehicle + $75 per diem
Australian Electrical License - NSW
Training: GWO BST & ART
Role Responsibilities:
• Execute electrical commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures
• Perform electrical installation work associated with commissioning
• Conduct electrical testing, verification and fault finding
• Apply, control and remove electrical and mechanical LOTO where authorized
• Execute turbine energization and de energization under approved HV procedures
• Perform electrical fault diagnosis and rectification on ELV, LV, and HV systems
• Lead commissioning activities at turbine level to ensure safety and quality completion
• Ensure commissioning documentation, checklists, and internal systems are updated accurately.
• Adhere to all EHS, electrical safety and site rules
About You:
Australian Electrical License - NSW (mandatory)
GWO BST & ART (mandatory -must be willing to complete training prior to start date, if you have the job offer)
High Voltage Switching Operations (mandatory- must be willing to complete training prior to start date)
Valid Driver’s License (mandatory)
Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single line diagrams
Proven experience in reporting and documentation management
Intermediate computer skills (MS Office)
Network and SCADA system experience
Willingness to travel and work on project sites
Physically fit and capable of working at height
Instrumentation, automation, PLC, and rotating machinery experience (desired)
Experience mentoring or leading commissioning teams (desired)
Certificate III or IV Instrumentation (desired)
