About the role
Football Coach - Junior Player Development
ATTFA | All Things Training Football Academy
Illawarra, NSW
Casual | Minimum 11 hours per week
About ATTFA
ATTFA is a growing junior football academy based in the Illawarra, focused on providing young players with a genuine development environment where the player and person always come first.
Our philosophy is simple:
Develop better people through football.
We believe great development takes time, consistency and great coaching. Our programs are built around technical development, decision-making, game understanding and helping young players build confidence through evidence.
Our players are encouraged to be:
Brave. Intelligent. Creative. Resilient.
With our expanded Full-Time Program launching in 2027, we are looking to add quality coaches who want to grow with ATTFA and play an important role in the next stage of our academy.
The Opportunity
We are looking for coaches who genuinely enjoy developing young footballers.
This isn't about standing on the sideline and running sessions from a plan.
We want coaches who are engaged, energetic, willing to learn and passionate about creating an environment where young players love coming to training.
You will work within the ATTFA coaching methodology and receive ongoing support and mentoring from Founder & Head Coach Nicolas Rouco, while developing your own coaching skills and understanding of junior player development.
The role will initially provide a minimum of approximately 11 hours per week, with our core coaching days being:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with occasional weekend coaching as required.
There will be opportunities to take on additional hours and greater responsibility as ATTFA continues to grow.
What You'll Be Coaching
ATTFA's methodology places a strong emphasis on the four core technical skills:
• First Touch
• 1v1
• Running with the Ball
• Striking the Ball – Passing & Shooting
But our coaching goes beyond technique.
We want players learning to perceive the game, make decisions, solve problems and express themselves on the football pitch.
Our coaches are expected to understand that development isn't always reflected by the weekend scoreboard.
Who We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from coaches who:
• Have a strong football background, ideally as a current or former player
• Have experience coaching junior players or are serious about developing as a coach
• Are technically strong and comfortable demonstrating football actions
• Bring energy and enthusiasm to every session
• Communicate well with young players
• Are reliable and available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with some weekend availability
• Are open to feedback and ongoing coach development
• Care about developing good people, not just good footballers
• Want to be part of building something long term
Formal coaching qualifications are valued, but character, football knowledge, coachability and alignment with our philosophy matter just as much.
What ATTFA Can Offer
You'll be joining ATTFA at an exciting stage of its growth.
We offer:
• Minimum 11 hours of coaching per week
• Core coaching days of Monday, Wednesday and Friday
• Casual coaching position
• Up to $40 per hour depending on age, experience and level of responsibility
• Opportunity to grow with ATTFA as the academy and your role develop
• Structured ATTFA coaching methodology
• Session plans and development frameworks
• Ongoing mentoring and coach education
• Opportunities to work within our U8–U12 Full-Time Program
• Opportunities for increased hours, leadership and responsibility as the academy grows
• A development-focused environment where coaches are encouraged to improve their craft
Most importantly, we're looking to develop our coaches alongside our players.
Our Coaching Environment
At ATTFA, we aren't looking for coaches who simply want another team.
We're looking for people who want to become better coaches.
People who ask questions.
People who want to understand why.
People who are willing to learn, reflect and improve.
And people who understand the responsibility that comes with coaching young players.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to have a conversation.
Interested?
Send us a message through LinkedIn or contact info@attfa.com.au with a short introduction about yourself, your football background and why you'd like to coach with ATTFA.
Sometimes the best place to start is simply with a coffee and a conversation.
