Parliamentary Officer

As a Parliamentary Officer at the Department of Education, you will Support the Parliamentary Workflow and Systems team within Ministerial, Parliamentary and Cabinet, to maintain effective working relationships between the department and the offices of our Ministers. The successful candidate will support the efficient coordination of ministerial correspondence, parliamentary documentation, submissions, and question time briefs within the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).

• Registering Ministerial Correspondence in PDMS.
• Providing administrative support for PDMS to deliver accurate advice, guidance and user assistance for moderately complex enquiries.
• Printing and packaging hard copies for the Ministers Offices
• Assisting with the quality assurance of ministerial correspondence, briefs and submissions, ensuring compliance with departmental standards, ministerial preferences and quality requirements.
• Assisting in team administrative functions, including monitoring and actioning shared mailboxes and tracking workflow items.
• Contributing to strategic planning and the achievement of team and department objectives.
• Supporting team members to deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Employment at the Department of Education is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:

• Citizenship: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
• Security Clearance: This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
