About the role
About the role
We are seeking a pragmatic and commercially minded HR Business Partner to support AirRoads national transport and logistics business. Reporting to and working closely with the National HR Manager (based in VIC), this role is a standalone HR Business Partner position with a strong focus on employee relations, leadership coaching, and organisational change. You will partner closely with operational leaders to navigate through people matters while supporting the business in building a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Key responsibilities
Serving as the first point of contact for national HR enquiries, delivering timely advice on people matters and HR processes while ensuring a consistent approach across the business
Managing end-to-end employee relations matters, including grievances, misconduct, performance management, fitness-for-work concerns, disciplinary processes, and workplace conflict
Conducting workplace investigations from initial complaint through to findings, recommendations, and implementation of outcomes
Partnering with leaders to build capability in people management, communication, and workforce planning
Preparing and communicating weekly workforce data to Payroll, including new starters, internal movements, position changes, and other employment-related updates
Providing expert advice on employment legislation, Modern Awards, Agreements, policies, and HR best practice
Supporting industrial relations matters, including union engagement, consultation requirements and dispute resolution
Developing productive working relationships with employee representatives and union delegates
Managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities across multiple business functions nationally
Supporting organisational change initiatives and business transformation projects
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, or a related discipline
Recent experience in a HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor, or Employee Relations focused role in transport, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or a similar operational environment
Demonstrated experience managing complex workplace investigations and employee relations cases
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks and Modern Awards
Experience working in unionised environments and engaging with employee representatives and unions
Proven ability to coach, influence, and challenge leaders at all levels
Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Excellent report writing, communication and documentation skills
A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with sound commercial judgement
