Head of Year (Secondary) – Teaching Role with Additional Responsibility
Citipointe Christian College, established in 1978, is a leading independent, co‑educational Christian College in Carindale, Brisbane. We are seeking a committed and experienced Secondary teacher to step into the role of Head of Year, combining classroom teaching with significant leadership and pastoral responsibility.

About the Role – Head of Year (with Teaching Load)
The Head of Year provides spiritual, pastoral and organisational leadership for a designated year group while maintaining a teaching load. This role is central to shaping student wellbeing, behaviour, engagement and community culture.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the pastoral care and spiritual development of students
Building a positive year‑level culture aligned with the College’s Christian values
Monitoring attendance, behaviour and academic progress, and coordinating support where needed
Overseeing behaviour management processes and supporting students through key transitions
Leading and mentoring year‑level teachers, including devotions, meetings and collaborative planning
Coordinating year‑level events, camps and parent engagement activities
Collaborating with senior and middle leaders on whole‑school initiatives and ensuring compliance with College policies
Building strong relationships with students, parents and the wider College community

Requirements
Current Queensland College of Teachers registration
Written, current Pastor’s reference
Academic transcript
Selection Criteria
Profess a Christian belief and regularly attend a church fellowship
Model Christian living and character
Ability to integrate faith and learning authentically
Bachelor of Education (or equivalent)
Demonstrated effective teaching practices
Strong written and oral communication skills
High technological literacy
Experience teaching with iPads (preferred)
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
Strong organisational and time‑management abilities
*Based on the 79.4% of students who granted permission for their ATAR results to be shared.
