About the role
Do you want to be a part of a team that promotes and improves the health of its people and community?
This is a Recruitment for a Permanent Full-Time appointment. Part-Time appointments will be considered for job share arrangements.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapy Coordinator (P3) to join our leadership team. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead and coordinate Occupational Therapy services, while contributing to the ongoing development of innovative models of care.
This recruitment will establish a pool of suitably qualified Occupational Therapy Coordinators (P3) for permanent appointment within the Occupational Therapy Department at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. While the current service need is within Hospital in the Home (HITH), successful applicants may be appointed to HITH or other clinical service areas according to organisational priorities, workforce requirements, individual expertise and operational need. This recruitment may also be used to fill permanent and fixed-term Occupational Therapy Coordinator vacancies that arise within the Department over the next 12 months.
About the Service
The Hospital in the Home (HITH) program at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) provides patients with an alternative to an inpatient hospital stay by delivering acute care in the comfort of their own home. Patients receive coordinated, multidisciplinary care from a team of dedicated healthcare professionals while maintaining the same level of clinical oversight and treatment as an inpatient service.
The role
Occupational Therapy Coordinators provide clinical and operational leadership and supervision across a range of specialty services within the Occupational Therapy Department.
As the Occupational Therapy Coordinator, you will:

WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service or the wider public service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
